GOD’S COUNTRY by Southerly Gold
A photographic exploration of the promises and resources that the farthest reaches of Louisiana have held for people. Over the course of ten years, Southerly Gold followed the trail of desire for Southern Utopia. From Agriculture to oil. From land to sea. Images of the contemporary landscape, captured along routes of the past, bear witness to the residue of these promises.
Southerly Gold is a collective of three female photographers- Aubrey Edwards, Ariya Martin, and Elena Ricci- living and working in New Orleans, Louisiana. We are educators and travelers, artists and professionals. Our passion lies in photographic mentorship, education, and sharing local and regional ways of life with a greater audience through visual archiving and narrative.
